Just as Apple’s latest phone, iPhone X was about to be available in stores, more than 300 of them got stolen.

A United Parcel Service (UPS) truck was on its way to Apple stores to deliver the handsets in San Francisco, US, when three thieves wearing hoodies climbed up the van stealing 313 phones worth $370,000.

As per CNET, the thieves were in a white Dodge van and broke into the iPhone-loaded truck parked outside the store’s location. A nearby warden, taking note of the activity, immediately took a picture just before the thieves were on the move.

Both UPS and Apple are working together with the police in the investigation. Police believes that the thieves were already tracking the truck. “Given the dollar value in the incident itself it appears it was planned,” according to SFPD Captain Rick Yick.

Each iPhone had its IMEI serial number with a description, which are all handed over to the law enforcements. Since Apple’s ‘Find My iPhone’ and remote lockout feature, there has been a drop in stolen devices and this feature will be a key in finding the stolen phones. The company however, refused to comment regarding its security capabilities.

For the people waiting to get their hands on the device and have preordered them, the good news is that they will still get their devices on time. It’s also doubtful that the robbery would make an effect on Apple’s casket as the company is expecting to make $84 billion in sales this quarter off the back of its latest iPhones, reported The Verge.
