President directs for taking effective measures to end unscheduled loadshedding

Aiwane-sadarISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday directed that effective measures have been taken for totally eliminating unscheduled loadshedding and suggested that a central control room be also set up in the Ministry of Water & Power for this purpose, if necessary.

The President gave the directions while chairing an emergency meeting on current power shortage and energy crisis in the country at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

At the start of the meeting the President expressed displeasure over the increasing incidents of unscheduled loadshedding in different parts of the country resulting in great inconvenience for the people.

He said that this situation was intolerable and had to be addressed satisfactorily by all state functionaries.
