Euronext wheat at one-month low as Russian harvest weighs

  • Front-month September milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext, settled down 0.50 euro, or 0.3%, at 179.75 euros ($211.55) a tonne.
  • The more active December contract also struck a one-month low at 179.50 euros, before settling 0.3% lower at 180.25 euros.

EU wheat dips in tandem with Chicago and euro surge

  • Front-month September milling wheat on Paris-based Euronext, closed down 1.8% at an intraday low of 182.50 euros a tonne.
  • By the same time most traded wheat futures contract on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) was down 2% at $5.28-3/4 a bushel.

Paris wheat ticks up after falls, follows US markets higher

  • The export-punishing rise of the euro to 4-1/2 month highs after European Union countries struck a deal on a massive stimulus plan was capping gains.
  • There is not enough news on the harvest to justify a massive fall so we are following the US market in the meantime.
