According to the PCB, head coach and the chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has submitted his recommendations to the chairman Ehsan Mani for approval. As many as 19 to 20 players will get the contracts for 2020-2021.

As per reports, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz are expected to lose the contracts, while former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed may be demoted to B category. Azhar Ali, who is Pakistan Test skipper, is expected to replace the wicketkeeper in A category.

Young pacers including Mohammad Musa, Mohammad Husnain, and Naseem Shah will also get the contracts for the first time.
