LAHORE: Punjab Food Secretary Irfan Ali is visiting all wheat purchasing centres of the province to monitor the procurement drive.
A spokesman of the Food Department said on Friday that the secretary during his visit listened to problems of farmers and issued ordered to resolve them.
He said that the secretary had visited Multan, DG Khan, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh and ordered strict action if middlemen were found involved in the wheat procurement process.
He also directed DCOs of all districts to visit wheat purchasing centres to make the process fair.
