Pak rescue team gets recognition

The representative from United Nations OCHA INSARAG Secretariat Geneva Switzerland Winston Chang officially announced that after clearing the classification and evaluation process, the Pakistan Rescue Team (1122) stands tall amongst the world elite as an officially UN Certified Urban Search & Rescue Team at a ceremony held at the Governor House Lahore.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar congratulated the Pakistan Rescue Team and said that Rescue 1122 had added yet another feather to its cap. The International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) is official certifying body of United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).

Speaking on the occasion, Commander Pakistan Rescue Team and Founder Emergency Rescue Services in Pakistan Dr Rizwan Naseer said that the Emergency Services Academy (ESA), established by Rescue 1122 in Lahore Pakistan has been selected to station the Pakistan Rescue Team due to its central location and role of training emergency staff of all provinces and was also asked to organize the Saarc Rescue Challenge in 2018 for capacity building of emergency services of Saarc countries.
