March's leaders' responsible for abiding accord: Sarwar

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Wednesday said that it was responsibility of Azadi March's leaders to abide by the agreement as strict action would be taken against those who will violate law of the land. He expressed these views while talking to Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, Austrian Ambassador to Pakistan Nicolaus Keller and other delegations, diplomats from China and Afghanistan.

During a meeting with the Punjab Housing Minister, the Governor said that the people are standing with the PTI government and the opposition's agenda of creating unrest and instability would be foiled. "It has already been exposed before the people," he added. "The PTI government under leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan would complete its constitutional tenure," he asserted.

Talking to the Austrian Ambassador, Sarwar stressed the need to further strengthen people-to-people contact, trade and economic ties between the two countries and added that there were vast investment opportunities in Pakistan while the government would ensure all facilities, including provision of foolproof security, to the investors.

Meanwhile, the Governor told the Chinese diplomats that durable peace could not be restored in the region until the Kashmir issue is resolved. He added that the Pak-China relations were very strong; "China had always stood with Pakistan in difficult times. China has supported Pakistan at every level, including on Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and Kashmir issue. Chinese investment of billions of dollars under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was also a great example of Pak-China friendship," he added.
