Plea to upgrade Faisalabad hospital

A new complete social security hospital in western part of Faisalabad is imperative in addition to the up-gradation of existing hospital situated in Madina Town. Addressing a meeting of FCCI standing committee on Social Security, EOBI, Labor Laws and Sizing, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Rana Muhammad Sikandar-e-Azam said that generally officers are very accommodative but the lower staff creates hurdles through red-tapism and repeatedly demanding different documents.

He said that in the name of paper work the sick workers and their family members are forced to pay repeated visits to the hospital or concerned offices. He requested officers to introduce a workable monitoring and check and balance system in their concerned offices to facilitate the secured industrial workers.

Shahid Ahmed Sheikh Chairman FCCI Standing Committee said that the existing social security hospital is facing acute shortage of human resources after the suspension of Medical Superintendent and a Surgeon. He said that efforts are being made to contact Vice Chairman Social Security but all efforts proved unfruitful.

Haji Talib Hussain said that e-mail system of EOBI has been choked and people are unable to file their complaints. Other members also highlighted their individual as well as collective problems while a shield was also presented to the retiring EOBI Deputy Director Javed Akhtar.
