Government to announce three-year Hajj policy

Additional Secretary Hajj & Religious Affairs, Mohammad Daud Warriach has said that this year, the government has planned to announce a three-year Hajj policy to provide maximum opportunities of training to pilgrims.

He was addressing second consultative workshop for Hajj Policy 2020 under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Religion Harmony here, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

A large number of pilgrims that have performed Hajj during 2019 under public and private schemes participated in the workshop. Director, Haji Camp Peshawar, Shakeel Ahmad Sethi briefed the participants regarding purposes and objectives and procedure of the workshop. He also sought the opinion of the participants regarding previous Hajj arrangements and formulation of new Hajj policy.

The Additional Secretary, Ministry Religious Affairs and Inter-Religion Harmony, Mohammad Daud Warriach exchanged views with different groups of pilgrims and collected their opinions and recommendations.

The workshop was a part of the efforts of the Ministry Religious Affairs, which they made for making better Hajj arrangements. First workshop of the series has been held in Karachi.

The Additional Secretary, Hajj and Religious Affairs said that the ministry is taking steps for provision of better facilities to pilgrims under both official and private schemes and they had accomplished success in this regard. The ample proof of the success of the initiative is the large of applications submitted with banks under the official scheme.

The objective of the programme is to collecting opinions and suggestions from the people to overcome the remaining weaknesses and deficiency in further facilitation of the pilgrims.
