Thefts, snatching cases on the rise in Capital

The incidents of various kind of theft and car lifting cases increased in federal capital during last week as over seven cases of theft including robbery, snatching at gunpoint and dacoity as well as eight cases of motor vehicle theft reported to city's various police stations.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, most favorite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Sabzi Mandi, Aabpara, Bhara Kahu and Ramna police stations.

In the same period, Sabzi Mandi police registered one case each of auto theft and snatching at gunpoint. Auto theft stole a car bearing registration number LEB-7369 of Rs 200,000 of Muhammad Akram.

Another, Nazir Ahmed informed Sabzi Mandi police station that four unidentified armed robbers riding a bike snatched cash from the employees of a petrol station when they were on their way to deposit cash in bank.

During the last week Aabpara police station registered two case of car lifting. Auto theft stole a bike (AYM-233) of Rs 40,000 of Muhammad Suleman and left another bike bearing registration number (FDT-9224) of Atif Majeed of Rs 30,000.

Two cases of robbery at gunpoint reported to Ramana police station during the last week. Moatasim Zeb informed Ramna police station hat the accused Sohail along with two unknown persons kidnapped his friend Zia and also snatched his car bearing registration number LE-2452 and cash of Rs 300,000. Another, Shafqat Hussain lodged a complaint with Ramna police station that the unknown robbers stole gold ornament, cash, mobile and other of Rs 300,000 from his house.

Similarly, Bhara Kahu police station registered one case of robbery and two case of kidnapping during the last week. Zahid Hussain informed Bhara Khau police station that the accused Rasheed and other stole gold ornament, cash and other important valuables of Rs 60,000.

Saifullah lodged a complaint with Bhara Khau police station that unknown persons kidnapped his daughter, another Gull Khitab informed same police station that unknown kidnapped his son.

During the last week, Industrial area, Bani Gala, Shalimar and Karachi company police registered on case each of robbery while one case each of auto theft reported to Koral and Margalla police stations.
