‘Yes tea cup, MiG21 is with us’: DG ISPR schools BJP politician for equating sports with conflicts

Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has once again schooled another Indian politician for equating sports with other issues and conflicts.

Bharatiya Janata Party member Major Surendra Poonia, who is the former Special Forces officer of the Indian Army, mocked Pakistan on his Twitter for the end of their run in International Cricket Council World Cup 2019 and for securing fifth place. Poonia also shared a picture of Wing Commander Abhinandan and wrote, "Our hero Wing Commander Abhinandan left your cup in Major General Asif Gafoor’s office! Kindly collect it and celebrate."

Hitting back at Poonia, the DG ISPR replied we don't equate sports and conflicts adding that Pakistanis are truly large at heart and that Poonia should ask Abhinandan about it. "But you can’t understand this as it requires moral values, a lacking displayed versus England. Yes, tea cup is with us, also Mig21 wreckage and much more," the he added.

Earlier, a similar Tweet was also posted by another Indian politician mocking Pakistan for losing match against India. Then too, the DG ISPR schooled India’s union home minister Amit Shah, reminding him not to compare ‘strikes’ to a cricket ‘match’ or else remember Pakistan downing two Indian jets earlier this year.

“If in doubt please see results of our Nowshera counter strikes and response to IAF violation on 27 Feb 19 downing two Indian jets. Stay Surprised,” the DG ISPR added.
