Speaking as Chief Guest at a seminar in connection with Tax Day, he said that collection of taxes was a gateway for carrying out development work and it was responsibility of the government to spend the amount on public welfare in a transparent manner.

Imran said observing Tax Day was a step which would help promote a culture to pay taxes as maintenance of law and order, provision of basic amenities was linked to it. Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Saima Younas said that only those states were considered successful who discharge their responsibilities efficiently. She said with the cooperation of the people the taxes collected were spent on provision of education, health, potable water and other facilities to the people.

While giving briefing about the collection of taxes,PRA officials told that PRA had collected Rs 4.75 billion amount out of the set target of Rs 5.5 billion for the previous year while Rs 4 billion had been collected out of the set target of collection of Rs 7 billion for the current year.
