He said that a policy will be framed in consultations with Sarhad Chamber and trade bodies.
He gave this assurance to a delegation of SCCI headed by its president Faiz Mohammad Faizi. The SCCI delegation called on him at his office on Monday. The delegation was comprised of president Anjuman-e-Tajiran, Haji Mohammad Afzal and former president Industrialists Association Peshawar (IAP) Malik Niaz Ahmad.
During the meeting, the delegation on behalf of the business community expressed reservations over the floor-wise unified property tax on commercial properties and its rates.
They said that due to lack of floor-wise tax, the business community is facing hardships and demanded the restoration of floor-wise property tax system on commercial properties and also a cut in the rates of taxes. The delegation also demanded exemption of industrial estates of the property tax.
On this occasion, DG Excise and Taxation, Fayyaz Ali Shah assured the SCCI president, Faiz Mohammad Faizi regarding floor-wise property tax on commercial properties and review of its rates and formulation of a policy in consultations with SCCI and trades bodies.
