PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Law, Sultan Khan Tuesday informed the house that substandard material has not been used in small dam constructed in Litambar area of district Karak and its basic structure is safe and fully intact.

He was responding to the calling attention notice of JUI MPA, Zafar Azam about leakage of a small dam in Litamber. The proceedings of the day were chaired by Speaker, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani.

Zafar Azam through his calling attention notice pointed that citizenry of the area is in fear due to the leakage from the dam. Demanded immediate repair of the facility by the irrigation department, he said that substandard material has been used in construction of the dam.

Law minister said that substandard material has not been used in construction nor there is any flaw or error in structure of the dam. He said that dam is not leaking but there is a natural seepage from an embankment that has been monitored by the experts while the department is fully aware of the situation.

Khushdil Khan of ANP also invited attention of the house to the deteriorated condition of Urmur Payan road near Peshawar Model School, Ghaz chowk, Zandi Camp, Arbab Banglaw, Chile Koroona and Urmur Miana.

Through a calling attention notice, ANP legislator said the project has not been completed since last four year and people are facing hardship due to its delay. He demanded Communication and Works Department to complete the project besides initiating inquiry against the responsible officials.

Provincial Minister for Communication Akbar Ayub said that delay is due to unavailability of funds adding the road would be completed by June this year after release of supplementary grant.
