Massive tree plantation drive being carried out in federal capital

ISLAMABAD: Massive tree plantation drive is being carried out in Islamabad under Prime Minister’s Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign with the mutual collaboration of different stakeholders.

Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Amer Ali Ahmed Friday inaugurated the 37th Annual Spring Flowers and Birds Show 2019, a press release said.

On the occasion of inauguration, representatives of Islamabad Horticulture Society (IHS), officers of Environment Wing of CDA were also present.

Speaking on this occasion, Chairman of CDA said such exhibition should not be limited only to exhibition of flowers but through such events residents of the city should be educated about importance of environment and green character.

He said new concept and ideas of beautification had being introduced to beatify the city esthetically.

He further said concept of kitchen gardening is being promoted in the city as it has a lot of scope in Pakistan particularly in the Islamabad.

He said by kitchen gardening we can utilize unutilized space for example roof top and even small lawns.

He added this concept is not only the source of daily consumption requirements but has also aesthetic value.

Chairman of CDA was visited different stalls established in the exhibition and praised the aesthetic sense of stall holders.
