KARACHI: K-Electric has responded to SITE Association of Industry complain about discriminatory behaviour and stated that the company had already sought clarity from the Power Division via letter.

Responding to the appeal of the association, the KE stated, “K-Electric is a law-abiding, responsible corporate entity which ensures compliance with all respective guidelines prescribed by relevant authorities. The power utility follows due process in coordination with concerned authorities, ensuring prior notification and seeking permission wherever applicable on timeline and implementation of directives.”

They added: “With respect to the implementation of Zero Rated Industrial Support Package (ZRISP), K-Electric has already sought clarity from the Power Division via letter dated March 11, 2019 and is in continuous engagement with the Ministry of Energy for the same. We are currently waiting for the directives from the Power Division in response to our letter to make any adjustments in the consumer bills accordingly.”

Earlier the association had appealed to the Federal Ministers Omer Ayub and Asad Umer to take notice of discriminatory behaviour of KE with Karachi Zero Rated industries and asked the Federal government to immediately issue necessary notification to implement support package to zero rated industries support package.
