Use of helmet decreases 83pc head injury incidents

LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Liaqat Ali Malik on Wednesday said awareness campaigns regarding use of helmets by motorcyclists had decreased head injury incidents by 83 percent.

Addressing a road safety seminar at a private university here, he said various campaigns had been started to aware the people regarding traffic rules and laws for providing them safe journey.

The CTO urged the students to observe traffic rules including lane-line, stop line, traffic signal, one-way and others to avoid accidents on roads, and said the observance of traffic rules was inevitable to ensure safe journey.

He said the traffic campaigns launched by the City Traffic Police (CTP) had yielded positive results.
