DC urges oil, gas companies to increase social welfare fund

HYDERABAD: The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Syed Aijaz Ali Shah has asked the oil and gas companies to increase the funds earmarked for the welfare projects like health, education and clean drinking water in the areas of their operation.

The DC in this regard chaired a meeting at his office here on Monday which was attended by the officials of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and others.

The local government representatives from the Union Councils Sawan Gopang, Aalmani, Tando Alam Mari and Buruki also attended the meeting.

The meeting decided to construct 14 reverse osmosis plants in the 4 UCs while each of the plant will cost Rs.3.6 million.

The DC asked the companies to establish a health dispensary and provide the medical machines like the X-Ray and PCR in UC Sawan Gopang.

The officials of the oil and gas companies assured the DC and the LG representatives that the projects would be initiated and completed at the earliest.
