Punjab govt obtains development funding from NDRMF
LAHORE: The Punjab government has obtained development funding worth Rs 1353.171 million from the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) through efforts of the Planning and Development Board.
According to a handout issued here on Thursday, funding by the NDRMF is aimed at projects that improve the resilience to climate change and natural disasters which in turn result in sustainable socio-economic benefits.
Punjab Planning & Development Board Chairman Habib ur Rehman Gillani said this grant would support people and result in prosperity and sustainable development.
The projects from Punjab that got funded include rehabilitation of Hajipur Gujran flood protection bund, rehabilitation/restoration of Jalala flood protection bund, protection of village locality Shahpur, Chanjura, Fatehpur Gujran and Sukho Chak against erosive action of Bein Nulla and protection of infrastructure, localities and agricultural land of villages Jagojil and Baryar from erosion of River Ravi downstream.
