QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday said that Balochistan’s long coastal strip holds tremendous business opportunities, the best investment can be made in the fields of fisheries and tourism.

He expressed these views while talking to Ismail Sitar Chief Executive Hub Pak Salt Refinery, who called upon him here today.

Secretary Mines and Minerals, Secretary Energy and Secretary Industries was also present on this occasion.

“The provincial government will provide venture capitalist with an auspicious environment and all the necessary facilities”, said CM Balochistan.

The company's Chief Executive expressed interest in investing in the sector of salt preparation in Kalmat coastal areas of Balochistan and discussed details of the proposed project with CM.

He further said that in the other countries of the world, salt-making projects in coastal areas are linked to marine life protection and tourism promotion, while it also creates employment opportunities at local level and would boost provincial economy as well.

“According to initial estimation, the project will produce 24 metric tons of salt annually, which could be used in different industries besides food”, said Ismail Sitar Chief Executive Hub Pak Salt Refinery.

He also presented the offer of partnership to government of Balochistan in this project.

The Chief Minister while expressing profound interest in the project directed relevant departments to review all aspects of having partnership with the company especially under private public partnership accord.
