Around 2500 policemen to be deployed on March 23
RAWALPINDI: Police have made the comprehensive security plan Parade Day on March 23 and to maintain law and order situation in the city.
Under the plan, around 2500 policemen would perform security duty to avoid any untoward incident on Parade Day, an official told APP.
City police have prepared a foolproof security plan on Parade Day.
He said more than 2500 personnel of police have been deployed at to keep a vigil on suspects and to control law and order situation while special Branch, Traffic Police, Elite Force Commandoes, ladies police and horse riding police Jawans would also be the part of security.
The police officials would patrol in the areas and City Police Officer (CPO) Abbas Ahsan office would monitor the situation.
He told that well-equipped police commandos have been deputed on rooftops of the buildings located in sensitive areas to avoid any untoward incident on March 23.
Meanwhile, City Traffic Police (CTP) has issued comprehensive traffic plan to facilitate motorists on the eve of March 23, in a statement Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Muhammad Bin Ashraf said heavy traffic would not be allowed.
He added that additional traffic wardens and officers would be deputed on roads to control traffic mess. CTO said Faizabad Interchange would remain closed for all kinds of traffic either going towards Islamabad or entering Rawalpindi.
