Provision of clean drinking water responsibility of Govt
ABBOTTABAD: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani on Monday said that for the provision of adequate clean drinking water to the people of Abbottabad on daily basis the government is taking extra measures.
Addressing after the inauguration of “Remote Monitoring of Water Supply System” Wasa here, Ghani said that the provision of clean drinking water is responsibility of the government while the cleanliness of the city is not possible without the cooperation of citizens.
He said that the government intended to grant more funds to Wasa to resolve the issues regarding the provision of drinking water to the citizens.
He directed Wasa official to start an awareness campaign in this regard.
Speaker KP assembly said that water-related issues of Abbottabad city have been reduced after the introduction of Wasa, he also appreciated the Wasa for installing the new and advanced system and said that it would help prevent water theft.
While addressing at the occasion Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Amir Afaq said that district administration and Wasa would launch a competition of cleaning in four union councils of Abbottabad and soon masses would see the change, we would also award a cash prize to the winning team.
Chief Executive Wasa Noor Qasim briefed the participants about the ongoing projects of Wasa and future planning, we have achieved our targets, he said.
PTI MNA Ali Khan Jadoon, member Tehsil council Sardar Sherdil, Malik Naeem Awan, Malik Waseem Advocate, Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, chairman Wasa Malik Naeem Awan, member board of director Wasa Sarfraz Khan Jadoon and Unicef representatives were also present in the ceremony.
