According to a report aired on a private news channel, citizens are visiting the strawberry stalls and markets in large numbers and experiencing the amazing taste of this delightful fruit in a variety of different drinks and food options including strawberry shakes, strawberry ice-cream, strawberry cakes, strawberry pastries and much more.

In Pakistan strawberry is being cultivated successfully in plains of Ghotki, Panu Akil, Ranipur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Gilgit Chitral, Kaghan Kohistan, Swat, Mingora, Multan, Narowal, Bhawalpur, Chishtian, Sialkot, Faisalabad and many other areas of Pakistan.

Nowadays many farms have begun sowing and harvesting strawberry to ensure its availability in different markets for the consumers.

Strawberry is a very versatile fruit and is used in many delicious drinks, desserts, juice, smoothies, sundaes, shortcake, ice-cream, strawberry cheese cake, jam and a host of other mouth watering combinations that stimulate the senses, said a vendor while selling fruit to customers.

Many vendors are selling strawberries on hand carts in small and big markets and back roads in the city, said a citizen.

“My family like fresh strawberry shake so I use to buy strawberries frequently from the near market" , said Javeria Imran .

I love strawberry fruit and i am so excited that every stall in city selling this red color tempting fruit, said a 19 year old Obaid Zia.

Fresh strawberries can be kept in the fridge for a few days while cooked ones can be frozen for use when the season is over, said a house wife Shubana Amir.

According to the health experts, strawberries have higher levels of vitamin C, fiber, folate and potassium than most other fruits like bananas, apples and even oranges and help reduce risk of cancer, enhance memory function and rheumatoid arthritis.
