Soomro highlights relevance of proposed draft of aviation policy

"This is basically to revive our aviation sector," he told journalists, following plantation of a sapling on the premises of Jinnah Terminal under Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority's "One Employee - One Plant" campaign.

To a query, Soomro said draft of the policy will soon be presented before the cabinet for required approval mentioning that the policy itself is in accordance to the directives of the Prime Minister Imran Khan and jointly prepared by Aviation Division, PCAA and other relevant stakeholders.

Soomro said the new policy once implemented, would have number of direct and indirect benefits and incentives for airlines operators, pilots and cabin crew along with the passengers travelling by air within Pakistan.

According to him several unprecedented initiatives including rationalization of all passengers related PCAA charges and aeronautical charges on domestic operations are essential components of the proposed policy.

He said details of the drafted policy has already been shared with media and has provided adequate opportunity to interested sections to decipher the same and share their opinion.

Senior officials of PCCA and that of national carrier were also present on the occasion.
