Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz condemns New Zealand attack
PESHAWAR: Strongly condemning the deadly shooting at two mosques in New Zealand, Head of the Churches of Pakistan Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peter on Friday said that Christian community of Pakistan stands side-by-side with the families of victims at this critical stage.
In a statement issued here from the Church of Pakistan, he said that ‘Killing of innocent Muslim worshipers at two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand is an inhuman incident,” At least 47 worshipers have been killed and 20 more inured when armed men attacked two mosques in Christchurch New Zealand.
Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peter said that Christian community is deeply sorrowful and dejected on the tragedy of killing Muslims at mosques in New Zealand when they were there for offering Friday prayers.
“We utterly condemn this horrific incident and extend our sympathies to bereaved families,” The Head of the Churches of Pakistan demanded the New Zealand government to arrest the killers immediately and be exemplary punished for this act of barbarism.
On this occasion, Bishop Humphrey Sarfaraz Peter directed all Churches in Pakistan to arrange special prayers for the victims resting in peace and survivors early recovery.
