Buzdar orders to expedite Naya Pakistan Housing Program

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed to expedite work on the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.

Presiding over an important meeting at his office here on Wednesday, in which the performance of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency, as well as progress on Naya Pakistan Housing Programme, was reviewed in detail.

The chief minister said that construction of five million houses was a flagship project of the PTI government which would fulfill the dream of low-income families.

He said that the scope of the programme would be expanded to other cities of the province in phases.

In the first phase, houses would be constructed in Lodhran, Chishtian and Renala Khurd while Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha and Chiniot will be included in the second phase, he said.

He said that foundation stone of the first phase of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme would be laid soon as providing shelter to the shelter-less was the PTI's manifesto.

Earlier, the chief minister was told in a briefing that identification of new sites in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar and Lahore was going on.

Provincial ministers Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed, Hashim Jawan Bakht, chief secretary, chairman P&D, provincial secretaries and others attended the meeting.
