Women making feats in every field
SUKKUR: Former opposition leader in National Assembly (MNA), Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that no nation can make progress without empowerment of women.
"Today, women are making great strides in every field. It reflects the long struggle of activists for the rights of women.” Addressing in an event, organized by District Administration Sukkur the other day in connection with International Women's Day at Sukkur Cultural Complex, he said that some years back women were working only in the health and education fields but that day female participation could be seen in every field.
The Mayor Sukkur Arslan Shaikh on the occasion said that 52 per cent of Pakistan's population was women and for sustainable development we could not ignore that segment of society. "I salute to all the courageous women, who have taken step forward and contributed to the prosperity of the country," he said.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Ghulam Murtaza Shaikh, Ms. Azra Jamal, Zeenat Bhanbhro, Zahida Khatoo and others also spoke on the occasion.
