Pakistan's Dec inflation rate eases to 6.17 pct y/y

On a month-on-month basis, the inflation rate stood at 0.41 percent in December.

Food items such as tomatoes, potatoes, and onions, as well as petrol, and diesel, were the main reason behind the slight decrease in month-on-month prices.

The inflation rate in October spiked to its highest in more than four years, hitting 7 percent following rising petrol prices and five currency devaluations by the country's central bank since December 2017, weakening it by 26 percent against the dollar during that period.
