The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is learnt to have initiating another probe against bureaucrat Ahad Cheema into the River Ravi Zone Front Development Project. Cheema, the former director-general of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), who is already under investigation in the Ashiana Housing Scheme scam, now faces another probe by the accountability bureau in relation to the River Ravi Zone Front Development Project, a source in the NAB, said.
The Ravi Project, started during the tenure of Shahbaz Sharif, allegedly employed services of a blacklisted company for a survey, the sources said, adding: "The NAB has found new evidence against Ahad after which it has decided to register another case against him.
It may be noted that Ahad Cheema was arrested by NAB from M.M Alam Road over corruption allegations of receiving 32 kanal land as a bribe. He had not appeared before the NAB despite several summons. NAB, which filed a reference against Cheema in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case on Friday, has decided to issue fresh arrest warrants for the bureaucrat.
