NAB authorities took Ex-DG KDA Nasir Abbas from Central Prison into custody and arrested his two alleged accomplices Javed Ahmed alias Javed Kancha and Raza Qazalbash from their houses on charges of fake public auction and kickbacks.
National Accountability Bureau Karachi said on Thursday they were arrested in connection with an inquiry instituted on the charges of conducting fake open public auction and tampering with title records of around 50 precious plots worth Rs 2 billion of KDA for doling out these plots to favourites against illegal gratification. The said plots are around 400 in numbers, whereas 50 such plots are part of Block 6, Gulistan-e-Jauhar Karachi.
As per the preliminary interrogation, accused Javed Ahmed alias Javed Kancha, a retired KDA official, was reappointed by Nasir Abbas and had been serving as his PSO for two years. He has been charged for processing forged title records of plots for illegal sanction and also involved in organized crime of fake auctions and illegal allotments of precious plots to the blue eyed persons acting as prime front man of Nasir Abbas.
The preliminary interrogation revealed that accused Raza Qazalbash is brother-in-law of Nasir Abbas. He was charged for misappropriating precious properties worth more than Rs 200 million in posh area through forgery in title documents. He has been acting as active abettor of Nasir Abbas and has been handling, layering and managing illegal proceeds of offences allegedly committed by Nasir Abbas for embezzlement of KDA's assets. The three accused persons will be produced in the Accountability Court for physical remand today (Friday).
