Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended date for filing of withholding tax statements for May 2018. The FBR has also extended the date of payment of sales tax and federal excise duty up to 20.6.2018 and the due date of submission of sales and federal excise return up to June 22, 2018 for the tax period of May 2018 due to Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
According to circular number 1 of 2018 issued here on Thursday, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 214A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, the FBR has extended the date of filing of withholding tax statements for the month of May, 2018 which are due on 15th June 2018 under the provisions of Section 165(2) of the Ordinance 2001 till 22nd June, 2018.
As per a letter issued to the Chief Commissioners of Inland Revenue LTUs/RTOs by the FBR here on Thursday, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the FBR has extended the date of payment of sales tax and federal excise due up to 20.6.2018 and the due date of submission of sales and federal excise return upto 22.6.2018 for the tax period of May, 2018 due to Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
