PHECHS case: NAB arrests three accused

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested three main accused involved in Public Health Engineering Cooperative Housing Society (PHECHS) Case. The accused are known as former-President, Dr Muhammad Shafiq, ex-Secretary General, Mian Muhammad Aslam and ex-office clerk Sheikh Rashid Mehmood. Moreover, the accused were supposedly involved in Commission of Scheduled Offence of corruption and corrupt practices by cheating public at large and alleged financial embezzlements being committed by them.
All the accused by aid and abetment made illegal allotments in favour of their favourite persons without proper approval from Management Committee's annual general meeting of Registrar Cooperatives. The accused persons are also involved in misappropriation of funds of Society and gaining pecuniary advantages from illegal deeds. Moreover, the accused in connivance with each others have illegally and by means of forgery got tempered official record and also allotted plots to their benamidars, hence, approximately more than Fifty (50) plots were transferred anonymously.
It is also pertinent to mention here that the accused persons embezzled hefty amounts from the official funds designated for the Development work of the members of the Cooperative Housing Society.
