SFA seals three unlicensed factories

The newly-established Sindh Food Authority (SFA) has become functional as it raided three unlicensed factories preparing substandard sweets in Korangi neighbourhood, here on Tuesday. The SFA team on a tip-off conducted raids on three factories in Korangi No. 2.5 in the wee hours. The inferior quality sweets, ice-cream etc, were being prepared at those factories. They were sealed three accused were arrested from the units that were established inside houses.
It is relevant to add that Sindh Assembly had passed Sindh Food Authority Act, 2017 on March 8, 2017. However, the provincial government took a year to make the authority functional.
