Jumatul Wida, the last Friday of Ramazan and 'al-Quds Day' was observed with religious fervor across the country on Friday. A large number of the faithful thronged the mosques and imambargahs to offer Friday prayers and seek blessings of Allah Almighty.
In Lahore, large gatherings of Friday prayers were held at Data Darbar, Badshahi Mosque, Jamia Naeemia, Grand Jamia Mosque in Bahria Town, Masjid-e-Shuhada, and Jamia Ashrafia. Foolproof security arrangements were made and police contingent were deployed.
Ulema and Mashaikh in their sermons shed light on the importance of Jumatul Wida, Ramazan and Laila-tul-Qadr and prayed for the stability and security of the country. They urged the Muslims to remember have-nots in their Eid festivities.
Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and unity and harmony amongst the Muslim Ummah. Prayers were also offered for the liberation of occupied lands of Kashmir and Palestine. The ISO and other organisations held rally in Lahore against Israeli occupation of Jerusalem and violence against the Palestinians. The participants expressed their solidarity with the Palestinians.
