Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Monday congratulated the nominated caretaker Prime Minister former Justice Nasirul Mulk after his name was announced by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah. "[I] want to congratulate former Justice Nasirul Mulk on being appointed caretaker prime minister," Khan tweeted.
PTI Central Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhary said that his party welcomes nomination of former chief justice as caretaker Prime Minister. "Former Justice Nasirul Mulk is a respectable name of the country and is a suitable choice for the slot of caretaker prime minister," he added.
He said that former Justice Nasirul Mulk headed the judicial commission formed to investigate the rigging in general election 2013 and formulated recommendations to ensure transparency in elections.
"Legislation to ensure fair elections have been done but necessary administrative measures in this regard are yet to be taken," he said. He expressed hope that the caretaker prime minister would come up to the expectations of the nation by holding free, fair and transparent elections.
