Fuming workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers clashed with police officials outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly where provincial legislators adopted Fata-KP merger bill. Speaker Asad Qaiser presided over KP Assembly session where Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak was also present.
Police was summoned as JUI-F workers tried to storm into the Assembly building where protesters clashed and police baton-charged the protesters to foil their bid to enter the assembly building. The cops also shelled tear-gas and used water cannons to disperse the protesters who pelted police officers with stones. Five persons sustained minor injuries and 20 people have been detained.
