The Karachi Port handled 182,531 tonnes of cargo comprising 154,203 tonnes of import cargo and 28,328 tonnes of export cargo including 4,317 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 154,203 tonnes comprised of 40,060 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,603 tonnes of bulk cargo; 13,165 tonnes of coal; 3,148 tonnes of soyabean meal; 18,907 tonnes of DAP; 4,360 tonnes of rock phosphate and 72,960 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,328 tonnes comprised of 10,580 tonnes of containerised cargo; 950 tonnes of bulk cargo; 2,523 tonnes of wheat; 8,573 tonnes of talcum powder and 400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,317 containers comprising of 2,763 containers import and 1,554 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,015 of 20's and 824 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 50 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 276 of 20's and 112 of 40's loaded containers while 384 of 20's and 335 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely SM Vancouver, Stolt Calluna, MT Karachi, Arwa and Spar Corona carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels viz. MOL Gateway, Leopard Sun and Normanna carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

A cargo volume of 228,549 tonnes comprising 201,165 tonnes of import cargo and 27,384 tonnes of export cargo including 2,658 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 201,165 tonnes includes 44,655 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,600 tonnes of palm oil; 76,108 tonnes of coal; 7,480 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 30,750 tonnes of LNG; 3,485 tonnes of chemical and 26,087 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,384 tonnes includes; 2,969 tonnes of wheat and 24,415 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,658 containers comprising of 1,373 containers import and 1,285 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely CV Torrente, MV IV Swindsor and MT Euro Strength carrying containers, coal and furnace oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Torrente, CV MSC Asya, MV Inlaco Bright, MV MG Hammand, MV Bravo-5, MV IV Swindsor, MV LMZ Phoebe, MV YM Miranda, MT Euro Strength and MT Kaimong Galaxy were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, wheat, soyabean seeds, coal, chemical, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nineteen ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV Adamastos, MV Maersk Pearl, MV Alliance, MV Reem-5, MV Navios Centarus, MV Thassos, MV Avalon, MV Valadon, MV Sea Lavender, MV YM Miranda, MT Maria-III, MT Sovereign, MT Komome Victoria, MT Al-Soor-II, MT FPMCP Eagle, MT Glorious, MT CGT Cobalt and MT Sino Energy-8 carrying containers, condensate, general cargo, bitumen, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were four vessels viz. CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV Adamastos, CV Libra and MV Alliance carrying containers and general cargo expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were six ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV Qingdao Tower, CV Uni Florida, CV Libra, CV TBA and CV Torrento carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday.
