Foreign exchange reserves held by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) continued downward trend and reached below $11 billion at the end of last week due to external debt servicing. SBP''s reserves were declined by $364 million to $10.799 billion as on May 11, 2018 compared to $11.163 billion as on May 4, 2018. However, during the period under review, reserves held by banks posted an increased of $144.4 million.
Banks'' foreign exchange reserves reached $6.268 billion mark end of last week up from $6.124 billion a week earlier. The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country declined by $219 million to at $17.067 billion as on May 11, 2018.
