Pak-German economic ties vital to industrial development: ambassador

While inaugurating the latest state of the art German machines installed by Roshan Packages in their Corrugation and Flexible Plants, the chief guest, Martin Kobler (German Ambassador in Pakistan) has stressed the need for improving and further strengthen bilateral trade between Germany and Pakistan.
He asserted that the apprehension regarding CPEC being an impediment to bilateral ties between Pakistan and European Union were ill-founded since the exports of Pakistan to China accounted for only 9 per cent while those to the European Union were 28 per cent.
The ambassador further vowed to play his effective role in improving the trade relations between the two countries.
He also emphasised that the biggest asset of Pakistan lay in its abundant youthful workforce. If trained and educated well by the governments, this workforce shall be the main strength in Pakistan's development.
Earlier, the CEO of Roshan Package Tayyab Aijaz Qureshi gave a very enlightening account of the past, present and future of Roshan Packages.
The other speakers who expressed their views on the occasion included Thomas E Legenberg Director Windmoller & Holscher Corp Germany, Tahir Malik President LCCI, Abdul Basit CEO Big Bird Group, Muhammad Junaid President Dubai Islamic Bank, Kashif Shah MD Arif Habib. However, most notable amongst the speakers was Dr Ijaz Hassan Qureshi, founder of Urdu Digest and Roshan Enterprises.
He gave a very absorbing and motivating rundown on the 60 years of toil, sweat and determination that paved the path which led to this day of success and jubilation.
The colourful inauguration ceremony was attended by a vast array of local and foreign elites comprising financial institutions, industrialists, government officials and dignitaries.
A highly entertaining musical programme followed by sumptuous dinner rounded by the proceedings.
