The Karachi Port handled 155,425 tonnes of cargo comprising 96,043 tonnes of import cargo and 59,382 tonnes of export cargo including 6,498 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 96,043 tonnes comprised of 40,264 tonnes of containerised cargo; 8,000 tonnes of coal; 8,524 tonnes of soyabean seeds and 39,255 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 59,382 tonnes comprised of 42,444 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of bulk cargo and 16,838 tonnes of wheat. As many as 6,498 containers comprising of 3,064 containers import and 3,434 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The breakup of imported containers shows 895 of 20's and 1,017 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 67 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,125 of 20's and 583 of 40's loaded containers while 77 of 20's and 533 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were nine ships namely Hyundai Faith, Ever Union, Tolten, RBD Anema E Core, Al Mahboobah, Intrepid Republic, Ruby Star, Sezai Selah and Stove Friend carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, wheat and clinker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. Prosper, Tolten, Sima Genesis, MT Shalamar and Ikan Salmon carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively currently at the berths.

A cargo volume of 188,067 tonnes comprising 148,504 tonnes of import cargo and 39,563 tonnes of export cargo including 4,200 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 148,504 tonnes includes 30,405 tonnes of furnace oil; 8,444 tonnes of palm oil; 46,921 tonnes of coal; 17,739 tonnes of canola seeds; 300 tonnes of mogas; 774 tonnes of LPG; 76 tonnes of chemical; 145 tonnes of project cargo and 43,700 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,563 tonnes includes 3,463 tonnes of cement and 36,100 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,200 containers comprising of 2,300 containers import and 1,900 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were three ships namely CV MSC Ishyka, MT White Purl and MT Silver Emily carrying containers, LNG and palm oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Ishyka, CV MSC Joanna, MV Devon Trader, MV Islander, MV Industrial Dolphin, MV Thor Insuvi, MV MI Harmony, MV Zhen Bang, MT White Purl, MT Nord Bay and MT Silver Emily were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, canola seeds, coal, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen ships namely MV Da Chang, MV MG Hammont, MV White Hawk, MV Thassos, MV Parnasos, MV Alam Mulla, MV Malhari, MT Ejnan, MT Caspian Gas, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Constantinos, MT Argent Aster, MT Corona and MT UACC Riyadh carrying project cargo, soyabean, coal, chemical, LNG, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were eight vessels viz. CV Maersk Detroit, CV Express Kenchenjunga, CV MSC Tomoko, MV Cylon Princess, MV Malhari, MT Ejnan, MT Caspian Gas and MT UACC Riyadh carrying containers, coal, chemical, LNG, LPG and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were five ships namely CV Maersk Detroit, CV Express Kenchenjunga, CV MOL Courage, CV MSC Tomoko and CV APL Chongging carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
