Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) general secretary Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said that the country would not have been facing electricity load-shedding if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has really added 10,000MW of electricity in national grid during its 5-year tenure.
The PPP secretary general expressed these views, talking to media persons at the PPP's party membership launching campaign, here on Saturday. He said it was in PML-N's manifesto to end load-shedding in five years but the people are still facing 12 to 15 hours load-shedding daily. He said all the claims and promises of PML-N government about power generation have proved false. He claimed people would reject the PML-N in coming general elections in view of its unfulfilled promises.
About the Budget 2018-19, he said, government presented the budget by violating the Constitution and the PPP does not accept it. Answering a question, he said, Mian Nawaz Sharif should demonstrate courage and tell the names of 'khalai makhlooq' (aliens). He said that PPP believes in the Constitution and rule of law and it would not want delay in elections. He said that free, fair and transparent elections should be held in the country.
