Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has maintained that the public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan Jalsa will be held on April 29 at any cost. While addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he further said that they sought permission from the government to hold the event at Minar-e-Pakistan, but the request was declined by the local administration. "We will go together at the venue at all cost," he added.
He also told the media that an awareness campaign regarding public gathering will commence in Lahore from Wednesday. They will publicise the Lahore 'jalsa' in schools, colleges, universities and shopping malls. "It is the government's responsibility to provide security for the Minar-e-Pakistan 'jalsa'," he added. On the occasion, he reiterated the party position that party tickets will be awarded on merit.
To a question, he stated that he has given the details of Senate election votes. "If the PML-N has doubts then they should carry out an internal accountability," he added. To another question, he observed that whenever powerful people are held accountable, they take refuge in hospitals in guise of medical reasons. "This will not happen in new Pakistan," he added.
Members of mobilisation committee including Sadia Sohail, Sheikh Imtiaz, Naeemul Haq, Dr Shahid Siddique, Naveed Ansari, Rizwana Ghazanfar, Owais Yunus, and others were present.
