Participants of an emergency meeting of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) have urged the government to lift anti-dumping and custom duty on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) because of its shortage.
They noted that the prices of hydrogen peroxide has increased 240 per kilo gram due to which the local industry particularly textile would be affected very badly.
They said that two industries in the country are producing eighty thousand tonne hydrogen peroxide due to which the local manufactures have to depend on the import of it.
They said that on import of hydrogen peroxide there are 11 percent custom duty, one percent additional duty and one percent income tax.
Presiding over the meeting Capt Moiz Khan and President NKATI Shahid Sabir feared that the export sector especially textile industries will not be able to meet the deadline for their orders.
