Two-day Science Festival is being organized by the district administration with the joint collaboration of educational institutions and industrial & traders organizations. This festival would be held on 3rd and 4th May at Expo Center Agriculture University in which science projects of students of different universities, colleges and schools would be displayed.
In order to review the arrangements of science festival, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani in which representatives of different Universities, Colleges, Schools, education department, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, all Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association, Anjuman Tajran, NGOs and industrial groups participated.
Giving the objectives of holding of science festival, the Deputy Commissioner said that it would help in to promote positive competitive approach among the students and academicians. He said that the science festival was being organized to create initiatives and drive among the students and researchers through acknowledgement and appreciations for localized industrial ideas. He said that the promotion of science and technology was very imperative for the development and boosting up the industrialization on the modern scientific lines.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Faisalabad was the 3rd largest city and rich in resources. He said that being industrialist city, the linkage with research institutions and industries should be strengthened to explore the new experiments in business and commerce. He said that the science festival would be the source to provide opportunities to the students of educational institutions to display their projects for the knowledge and interest of the industrialists and the people other walks of life.
They urged upon the business and industrial organizations to come forward for organizing the successful science festival for the encouragement of science students. He vowed that the science festival would be made regular feature for providing the ample opportunities of the competitions in science, projects, and ideas and would be held every year with the cooperation of universities and colleges which would create new horizons of research.
Giving briefing, ADCG Khalid Masud said that more than 186 science projects made by the students on different science topics would be displayed in the science festival for the interest of business community, students, parents and people of other walks of life. He informed that food court would also be established at the science festival besides arranging musical programs for the interest of the visitors.
He said that a seminar would also be held at the end of science festival to discuss the science projects and encouraging the researchers. Among others the president Chamber of Commerce Shabbir Chawla, Vice President Usman Rauf, APTPMA representatives Ch. Habib, Mian Aftab, Rizwan Ashraf, Ihtisham Javed and Sh. Amjid also participated in the meeting.
