'Fake encounter' in Kasur: CJP asks AIGP to file application for bail's Cancellation
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has directed the Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) to file an application for cancellation of bails of the police officials involved in encounter of Mudassar Munir of Kasur.
The CJP was holding suo motu proceedings in Aaman Fatima murder case of Kasur in which police had killed an accused Mudassar Munir in a fake encounter.
The CJP also directed the AIGP to monitor the committee constituted in the Faitma murder case and submit his report within a month. He observed that no impression of leniency would be shown in fake encounter cases. Under what law police are killing innocent people, he asked.
Earlier, the AIGP on a court query about the police officials involved in Mudassar's encounter said they are on bail and are present in the court room. At this, the 'healthy' SHO Gandapur appeared before the court which prompted the CJP to ask the AIGP whether or not police officials are asked for fitness. He also expressed dismay over the committee comprising DIG Sohail Sokhara in Fatima murder case. However, the AIGP told that Sokhara had helped in arresting the accused in Faitma case and hence, he should remain in the committee. However, the CJP asked the AIGP to monitor the committee himself and submit his report within a month. He also directed the Prosecutor General Punjab to submit his report about the progress of the case on next date of hearing.
