Property tax collection: Punjab's 26 districts interlinked with each other

The property tax collection system has been interlinked in 26 districts of Punjab through digitalization while Motor vehicle regulatory system has been computerized throughout the province. This was stated by Punjab Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman while addressing the training session of newly recruited staff of Excise and Taxation Department, here on Wednesday.
The Minister said that as compared to other departments, the biggest chunk of public contact was with E & T department which deals with more than 4 million properties and 15 million vehicle owners as revenue payers to the government. He said due to computerization of the department, Punjab has left other provinces far behind as far as the performance is concerned. Moreover, the ratio of corruption has also minimized because very effective reforms were introduced in the Department. On Line system is being introduced to further reduce the problems of the public.
Provincial Minister said that facilitation centers of E&T department would be functional at all the nine divisions of the province by 30th of June this year. These initiatives would ensure hassle free services for the tax payers.
He said that CM Punjab has worked day and night to eliminate load shedding from the province. His efforts have yielded good results as our growth rate has increased. We have won the fight against terrorism and all the economic indicators are now very positive.
