President, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Tariq Malik has urged the government to take immediate measures for building new water reservoirs and improvement of drinking water quality. Discussing water challenges at meeting held on World Water Day at KATI, he said that collectively we ignored our water resources due to this bigger economic and healthcare challenges have emerged that are threatening our nation.
He said that Industry should also come forward to play its role to for the protection and awareness regarding water issues. Dr Sami Uzzman briefed the meeting regarding purification and other important issues related to water. Chairman Consumer Association of Pakistan Kokab Iqbal said that every day should be taken as "water day", situation is going worst day by day and whole nation must focus on water challenges.
The participants of the meeting unanimously applauded the measure taken by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar by taking notice of water related condition in Sindh province and especially in Karachi. Action of water commission headed by Justice (retd) Ameer Hani Muslim was also appreciated.
