'Government making all out efforts to promote sports in Bajaur'
Bajaur Agency assistant political agent Arif Khan has said that the federal government is making all out efforts to promote sports facilities in the agency, which are vital to ensure a peaceful environment in the region. He was addressing at a ceremony in connection with the distribution of sports kits among the players who are taking part in the second edition of Fata Super League Cricket Tournament here at Bajaur Sports Complex.
The 2nd edition of Fata Super League (FSL) is scheduled to be launched from Sunday (today) March 18 to March 28 in which total 24 teams from different tribal agencies are taking part in the tournament. According to the organizers, 67 matches will be played in the tournament held in Bajaur Agency, Kurram Agency and Khyber Agency.
The Assistant political agent said the federal government was keen to provide modern sports facilities in the tribal areas as sports activities are the best and effective way to promote peace and tolerance in the region. The ceremony was also addressed by tribal elders and leaders of different parties and welcomed the 2nd edition of Fata Super League.
