Prices of essential kitchen items witnessed a reduction during this week past against the preceding week, a survey conducted by Business Recorder revealed here on Saturday. The survey observed that the tomatoes price went down from Rs 150 per 5kg to Rs 100 per 5kg which in retail market were available at Rs 30-35 per kg against 40-45 per kg, while onion price also witnessed a reduction from Rs 180 to Rs 130 per 5kg in wholesales market which in retail market was being sold at Rs 30-35 per kg against Rs 45 per kg. Potatoes price reduced from Rs 160 per 5kg in wholesales market to Rs 120 per 5kg which in retail market was are being sold at Rs 30 per kg against Rs 40 per kg.
Local garlic price reduced from Rs 550 to Rs 450 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 130 per kg against Rs 150 per kg, while ginger price remained stable at Rs 600 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 150 per kg. Local lemon price went further up from Rs 760 to Rs 950 per 5kg and Chinese lemon price climbed up to Rs 370 to Rs 600 per 5kg which in retail market were being sold at Rs 230-240 per kg against Rs 110-180 per kg.
The survey observed that the price of live chicken went slightly up from Rs 5,400 to Rs 5,600 per 40kg in wholesale market which in retail market was being sold at Rs 175 per kg against Rs 170 per kg, while chicken meat was being sold at Rs 300 per kg against Rs 290 per kg. The eggs prices in wholesale market went down from Rs 92 per dozen to Rs 88 per dozen which in retail market were being sold at Rs 100 per dozen against Rs 105 per dozen. Mutton was being sold at Rs 800 per kg while beef was available at Rs 450 per kg.
Spinach price slightly went down from Rs 100 to Rs 70 per 5kg in wholesales market while in retail market it was being sold at Rs 20 per kg against Rs 25 per one-kg, while price of a bundle of mint further went down from Rs 180 per bundle of 5kg to Rs 150 per bundle in wholesale market while in retail market a small bundle of 1/4 kg mint was being sold at Rs 20 per bundle against Rs 25. Capsicum price further went down from Rs 480 to Rs 330 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 75 per kg against Rs 120 per kg, peas price remained stable at Rs 150 per 5kg in wholesale market, which in retail market were being sold Rs 40 per kg, taro's (arvi) price witnessed no change which was being sold at Rs 250 per 5kg while in retail market it was available at Rs 60 per kg, carrot price didn't witness any change which was being sold at Rs 150 per 5kg while in retail market it was available at Rs 40 per kg and price of a pack of 8kg radish went up from Rs 80 per pack to Rs 100 per pack which in retail market was being sold at Rs 20 per kg against Rs 15 per kg against.
Bean price went down from Rs 300 to Rs 275 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 65 per kg against Rs 70 per kg, Okra price went down from Rs 650 to Rs 550 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 140 per kg against Rs 180 per kg and price of ridge gourd (tori) went down from Rs 335 to Rs 300 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 75 per kg against Rs 80 per kg.
