Chief of Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, in his World Women day message on Thursday, said that Islam is the biggest supporter of women's rights whereas the slaves of the status quo and colonial powers were the bigggest exploiter of the women. Sirajul Haq said that on the pretext of equality, the West was exploiting the women folk.
After depriving the women of the love of the father, brother and the son, the western society had thrust on her the responsibility to earn her living. On the other hand, he said, Islam placed the responsibility of earning livelihood on the male members of the house.
He said the west wanted to demolish the family system in the Muslim world in order to impose its satanic culture through the Muslim rulers. The JI chief said that the rights and respect Islam had given to the women as mothers, sisters and daughters and wives fourteen hundreds years ago had no parallel in any religion or civilization. Islam also gave the right of inheritance to the women folk.
He said that the model for the Muslim women were Syeda Fatimah and Syeda Aisha and not the Holly Wood actresses. He said that the NGOs and the elite class women talking of women rights only believed on ceremonial activities and were least interested in women rights. In fact, he said, those shouting for women rights were the biggest enemies of the women. Sirajul Haq said that if the JI came to power, it would establish separate women universities. Women would be given interest free loans to establish cottage industries.
He said that the rulers wanted to deprive the Muslim women of Hijab which was a great blessing. The JI chief impressed upon the countrymen to illuminate their households with the teachings of the Quran and the Hadith. He said that the women folk should be taken into confidence for freeing the society from corruption and other social evils.
